The weather is getting cooler, but that won’t stop your kids from playing outside.
And when they’re done playing, they’ll want something to nibble on, whether that means after-school snacks or a mid-afternoon treat during their weekend playtime.
That’s why Swingset & Toy Warehouse has put together this guide to making your kids some fall snacks. These are things they can enjoy at your kitchen table or the picnic table, the lemonade stand or inside their swing set fort. Enjoy!
The next few fall snacks require a little bit of preparation, but don’t worry: these are things you can whip up in a few quick steps.
This one is pretty simple: Peel a banana, dip it in yogurt, and then in granola or cereal. Place it in the freezer, and soon you’ll have a crunchy, healthy banana popsicle.
Start by putting out a series of bowls, each of them filled with one of these ingredients. (You don’t need to pick everything from the list.)
Have the kids wash their hands, and give them each a baggie with their name on it. Allow them to scoop their choice of ingredients into their bags. Set limits: say ½ of a cup of four of the ingredients.
This next fall snack lets your kids and their friends enjoy the taste of s’mores without having to build a campfire or fire up your grill. Just use chocolate covered graham crackers and spread marshmallow fluff over them for an easy, no-heat-necessary version of s’mores.
Every kid deserves a nice cup of hot cocoa on a crisp fall day, but not every kid can drink milk. Fortunately, there’s coconut milk hot cocoa.
To make it, you’ll need:
To make the cocoa, combine all the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and incorporate them evenly. Heat four to six cups of hot water, and then stir in your ingredients, and enjoy!
We hope this list of after-school fall snacks comes in handy the next time your son or daughter shows up with a mini-army of friends. You’ll be able to send them back to their backyard playset full of energy and ready to tackle whatever their imagination brings.
